New Information for 11th Chelmsford Scouts

If you're celebrating a birthday, or any special occasion, during the Jamboree let us know!!

As you all know, this is an International Jamboree!! So there will be Scouts and Guides from all over the world coming right here to Essex! Why not bring along some gifts from Chelmsford to share with the people you will meet. Something as simple as some postcards of Chelmsford are a great way to welcome new people to our town.

We will be camping on Canadian Wolf Subcamp.
Our Subcamp colour is red, and as can be seen on the map below we are nearest the activities field for the week.

Th Market square is next to the international plaza and game reserve sub camp, not on the left hand side, this is just an enlargement of the picture.

Day visitors

Wednesday 30th July.

A day for all of you not lucky enough to be joining us on the jamboree. The Wristband costs just £5, which is great value when you consider how much The World Jamboree open day cost.

There will be a wide range of events and activities to keep you busy

Experience the Jamboree programme

Discover the hype in the Market Square

Wander round the endangered animal themed Sub Camps

Go shopping for souvenirs in the Jamart

Grab a bite to eat at Dino’s

Relax in the Jungle Café

Take part in special open day events

Watch an entertaining show at the end of the day

In 2004, thousands of people came to visit and this year the organisers are making it even easier for you to get into the site and ready for a great day.

By ordering in advance you will be issued with a wristband, which will entitle you to come through a special entrance in no time at all, missing all the queues and no messing about with money. Visit EIJ 2008 website for further information, but don’t miss out – the closing date for ordering is Monday 30th June.

The Jamboree Open Day will be open between 10am and 5.30pm. Height restrictions will apply on activities and are subject to change due to circumstances beyond our control.

Parking
Parking will be available but help us save the environment and creating queues by car sharing or coming by coach. Unfortunately public transport is not linked to the site but why not find out if other parents and families from your Group are going and you could share a ride.
